  1. I know it's a long shot but does anyone have an adapter plate for GM 525 to a 1940 Dodge Sedan. I can make one, but would like to start with a drawing, a dxf file would be awesome. I've been searching thru forums and found a few people that had made adapter plates, so I thought I would give it a shot before starting from scratch. Thanks, Ken
  2. I have a 1940 Dodge D14 and a 1999 Ford Explorer disc brake rear end. I'm looking for information on successful swaps and how you setup the Master Cylinder. I'm also going to install front disc brakes. Master Cylinder options for the 40 Dodge don't seem to be plentiful. I'm fine with manual master cylinders as long the pedal pressure isn't too bad. I would like to use the original pedal and under the floor location.
  3. I used a 3d printer for the clips. I have the clips for below the rear window and the ones over the rear quarter and/or doors. The hold tite and are not too difficult to use. They are single use and will most likely break when trying to remove. I can send you the 3mf files for printing if you like.
  4. Once again solved my own problem. It seems as soon as I ask the question a solution comes to me. Took out one of the engine/trans mounts and tilted just enough to get it out.
  5. Anyone replaced an oil pump with the engine installed? I’m hitting the frame when I tried to pull it out. I would prefer to not pull the engine.
  6. I'm looking to replace the rear main seal on my 1950 Dodge Coronet. I haven't opened it up yet, but it looks like it's possible to replace the lower part of the seal without removing the oil pan. It's the seal with 3 bolts on the top and 3 bolts on the bottom. Can I just remove the three bolts and replace? Do I really have to remove the oil pan?
  7. Speed Gems bought Wilcap. They are on Facebook. I was told via Messenger they are working on an adapter for the GM transmission. The Wilcap inventory was sold out and some issue with production of new ones. Supposed to be ready early 2023.
  8. This was probably a stupid question, but thought maybe it could be converted to floor shift with new side covers and shifter mechanism.
  9. Hi, does anyone know if a floor shifter from a 1937 Plymouth 3 Speed trans will bolt into a 1940 Plymouth 3 Speed. I'm looking into buying a 1940 Plymouth Coupe project and considering options. I have a 1937 Plymouth 2dr sedan parts car with the engine and trans still in it. I would prefer a floor shifter. Thanks, Ken
  10. Hi, I'm just curious where you are with your 37 Plymouth. I also have a 37 Plymouth P4, 4 dr sedan. I have had it since 1987 and am still working on it. I did keep the straight axle. I put a Buick V6 231 and TH350 trans with an 8 3/4 rear end. Just a cruiser, plenty of power for me. I added disc brakes on the front using Mercury Villager rotors and the original hubs with drums removed. My brother and I designed a mount for Wilwood 4 piston calipers. Works great. I used the front and rear seats (6 way power, leather) from a 2005 CTS. If you haven't done anything on steering yet, I would suggest electric power steering. A 2010 Toyota Corolla column with the controller worked very well and easy to fab up. I used the entire column and added a set of relays in a box for all turn signal and other switches. It wouldn't be that difficult to graft onto another column. The 2010 Toyota steering has a default mode with no ECM required, just the steering controller. There is a lot of info on the web about it. I also rebuilt the original steering box and will be getting new king pins soon. I've had a lot of fun with it over the years. Still not finished, may never be, but it's fun to drive.
