  1. My 51 Dodge business coupe was all apart when I got it. Most if not all of the interior trim appears to have been installed with tapered machine type screws, does anyone know what size I'm going to need? Tapered or counter sunk machine screws are kinda hard to find so it seems.
  2. Wait and tell her later that a car is connected to it.
  3. Very nice. That thing is clean.
  4. Can anyone post some pics of the front sheet metal on a 51 Dodge b coupe? I'm needing info on the rad support and inter fenders and how the support attaches to them. I got this car all apart, and there is some extra stuff that don't even belong to this car.

    Vent assy

Thanks, for the info. I just realized that the vent glass had a metal frame around it. I don't have that. I knew I was missing something, I even cleaned them up and primered them the other day and didn't think of that. Going to have to back up and rethink this.

    Vent assy

I am building a 1951 3 passenger business coupe. I have the vent frame work but no glass. I can get glass cut, but the glass has the handles and I didn't get that with the car. I've thought about just getting glass cut and trying to put them in stationary but if I could pick up what I need at a reasonable price, I would. It seems the seal kits for these are a fortune. Thought maybe somebody had some laying around. I've got to get both side windows, and a windshield cut plus seals for everything. This is not a restoration, just a hot rod, so everything doesn't have to be perfect. Any help appreciated. May have asked on here before, but I'm getting closer, thought I'd try again. Parts for these aren't exactly laying around everywhere, that's for sure.

    Bench seat

Thanks, mine looks pretty wide, I'll do some measuring.

    Bench seat

What has everyone used in a 51 Dodge business coupe that fits well and will seat 3? I have a nice set of buckets I was going to use, but my 76 yr old mother has informed me that she needs a spot to set. From what Ihave come up with, 55 or so inches wide. Wish it had a rear seat, but the space isn't there.

    Head liner

That is impressive. What blanket did you use? You ought to do a how to on that. Sure looks good.

    Head liner

    Thanks, WLS is really reasonable.

    Head liner

Anyone know where I can get a head liner for my 51 Dodge business coupe? Something that don't cost a arm and leg. This won't be a show car, I'm going to do all the other interior, or at least give it a good shot anyway. Don't think I can do the headliner. I have all the metal rods for it.
  12. I'm getting ready to set the body on my frame, 51 Dodge business coupe, and I have been going over my mounts. I have all but 2 of the ones that go through the center, 2 odd one's that go in the rear, but I also got 2 larger one's that I don't have a clue. They are twice as big as the rest of them and taller. A lot of this car was already apart, plus some extra stuff mixed in, does anyone know where they would go? If I was smart enough I would post a pic, but I haven't mastered that yet.
  13. Thanks, I'll get the 1 from Speedway, I have to order a few things from there anyway.
  14. I've got a new tank I acquired from a friend out of a 70 chevelle. It has a new sending unit also, 3/8's. From measuring, it looks like it'll work great. It's not real thick so it won't hang down to far. I'll let you know how it works out. Biggest problem I see is the fill neck.
  15. Working on my 51 Dodge business coupe. Got a few questions that I need answered. Does anyone know what ohm the gas gauge is? I'm using a gm tank with a new gm sending unit, and would like to use the stk gauge if I can. Can I use the 1 spd wiper motor by using something to convert it to 12 volts? Is there some place I can buy the window channel rubber by the ft? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to work out some of the small things while I'm working on the big things if that makes any sense.
  16. I got a 51 I'm doing. Good to see another build pop up. Looks like a nice solid car. I was doing research on mine when I got it. I would find 1 pic of a 51 with 1 design grille and then another pic with a different grille. I got various extra parts with mine and I was trying to sort through everything and find out what was what.
  17. I was wanting to use my factory gauge and the tank I'm using has a 90 ohm sender. I was told you had to match the ohm rating on sender and gauge. I think most fords are 30 ohm. I've got a 70 chevelle tank I'm using.
  18. On my 51 Dodge business coupe, does anyone know what OHM the factory gas gauge is? I have searched with no luck.

    Body mounts

)n a 1951 Dodge business coupe, does anyone know where I can find the rubber body mounts and bolts? Thanks.
  21. The cheapest I found is Andy Bernbaum at around $100 each on the windshield rubber and rear glass.
  22. Where is the best place to buy some weather striping for my 51 Dodge business coupe? I need front and rear window seals around windshield and back glass.

    49 Wayfarer

I got a 51 I'm doing. Didn't know a thing about them, I was more a 60's and 70's guy. Got on here and have had a lot of help and info. They even answer stupid questions to. Good luck.

    51 door glass

    Thanks, that helped a lot.

    51 door glass

Was going to try and do a 1 piece glass, no vent glass, but after looking, the door curves at the vent glass enough I can't do that. I have the frames but no glass. The handles are on the glass so they're gone to. I'm going to a big swap meet in a couple of weeks, so what do I look for that will fit my 51 Dodge business coupe? Inother words what will interchange yr wise and Plymouth wise. Thanks
