well..i've always tinkered with cars and bikes...just about everything! taken lotza stuff apart...mostly to see what made it work! and although i quite often don't put things back the way i found em'....it's been a learning experience for sure. most of my car days were all about speed and the "hopped up" variety...but my old coupe is much different. the first thing i notice about it is...."ooohh that smell" it has a musty smell...not a new car smell. just takes me back....i have to wonder if the seat is'nt stuffed with horse hair? the car is nearly original in every way so the temptation to see what makes it tick is very hard to resist: but something about just driving it down the road with it's poor brakes...that big old cracked dirty stearing wheel...and shifting knob nearly missing completly....well..."that smell is really why i enjoy it so much"....don't want to change a thing...really...~DEADMAN~

oh..yeah..."guess we all have those days...right? but it's all good..cause the damages were minimal and i've been looking for an excuse to ship it off to the body shop for the rebuild/color change. hope i'm not wrong to mess with the car...it's completly orig xcept for cloth and coat of paint...not sure of original color, but i think black would do it justice? and is playing with the cars originality not good practice? i know antiques are like that...but cars?

no luck posting in the parts wanted section....so i thought maybe someone may be more likely to stumble onto this post and help me out... i have a 40 dodge coupe and it's missing a trim piece over the drivers rear quarter."Can that piece be reproduced by someone?"....cost is certainly an issue....but man i really need that piece badly! if anyone has the piece and would be willing to trade for one slightly use left testicle? please let me know..lol

bit off the subject of glass....but somewhere along the same lines in the luck department... "today...i backed up my baby and ran over a damn old wood stove i had unloaded in the driveway! scored down the passenger fender and under it when it got past the wheel...and lodged up under the front!":eek: not having a very good day!...sory about ur probs just the same! there is always tomorrow right?

that depends on ur interpritation on the picks i took...lol i think the tires....that are brand new...are worth the cost of the scrap?

i just purchased a 41 plymouth but not sure just yet if the horns are there or not....will check and get back to you! will they work for ur 40?

i work at a local scrap yard and the price being up right now @ $200.00/ton alot of interesting junk comes in. we had someone bring in 2 old fire trucks. ones is a 53 Seagrave pumper. the truck is nearly complete. when i opened the hood i could'nt believe my eyes.....a very large flathead v12!!! at first i thought v12 then after counting the 24 plugs i leapt to la la land with the belief it might be a V24....lol well..just 2 plugs per cyl and dual distributors 4 coils...apparently they don't wont them to quit in the middle of a fire...lol "would this engine be worthy of salvage...as it seems locked up...would it make a decent Rat Rod engine?"

i just recently purchased couple cars...40 dodge coupe and 41 plymouth coupe...the dodge is all original except paint and new cloth inside. brought back to N.B. (Canada) about 20 yrs ago. I'm missing a chrome strip over drivers rear quarter...any ideas where i could find a replacement?
