The drums are off. It took a 3 leg puller, 8 # sledge hammer and a torch.. brake linings are unworn.....It gets new cylinders, clean up, paint, then Dot5

I have used Dot 5 since 1978. I used it in my 1973 Norton. It is still as sweet as the day I did it. I use it in my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire and all my hydraulics.

I installed the exhaust system in my 48 Plymouth resurrection yesterday. I mig welded all joints except manifold to header. It should be quiet and trouble free. I suspended it on rubber hangars as original...I am building a driver........ next is to remove rear drums to replace cylinders for Dot 5 conversion... I have a big hammer.... this 60 year old car is fun....

I rework my trim dents with body hammers and buffing wheels from Harbor freight. I enjoy doing it. But, then I also like doing hand rubbed lacquer.......

here is a picture of the Sunbeam alpine series 4 I saved from the crusher. I am working on it as I work on the 48 Plymouth. Makes more fun.. the hard top I already had. .The rust is not as bad as it looks. The body is structually sound.

I am deep into my 48 project coupe. I replaced all hydraulic cylinders, lines/hoses. I installed replacement trunk floor, front fenders, shocks, toe panel, The wiring has been butchered. I am removing all of it and will make a new harness. I will employ LED lights, single wire alternator, 12 volt battery, transistor radio and electronic ignition. The car wil look stock. I keep the 6 cylinder. I mig welded the rear fenders on to the body. I bought midnight blue lacquer to paint it, in hand rubbed finish. I am building a driver, not concours......

This car is the same as the one I bought in 1956. I am restoring it. Just discovered what is involved in removing the master cylinder. The brake system will be as new, and filled with Dot 5. There is a lot of rust to repair in the body. It will fun doing it. The engine turns.
