  1. I want to convert to power front disc brakes on my 47 4 door plymouth. I have found suppliers that can supply the conversion kit for the disc and calipers. I have not been able to find a power booster kit to fit under the floor of the 47 plymouth. If anyone knows of a source please let me know. Thanks, Greg
  2. Has anyone done business with "The Car Cover company" part of Day to Day Imports? They advertise in almost every car section of Ebay. I bought a cover from them. It was way too big for my 1947 4 door. They did not respond to multiple e-mails and phone calls. When I did get someone to answer I was told to shut-up and not call back. I guess I will just have to write it off to a bad internet purchase. Greg
  3. Thanks, the window is out. It is easy when you get good instructions. Greg
  4. I need to replace one of the back door windows in my 1947 Plymouth Sedan. I do not find a way to disconnect the window glass channel from the menchnism. The inside trim is reomved and I have removed the fuzzy channel. Can someone please give me insturctions on removing the glass? I may have posted this twice, but did not see the first post. Thanks, Greg
  5. I have a broken window in the rear door of my 1947 Plymouth sedan. I do not find a way to disconnect the glass retainer channel from the operting mechanisim. The inside window trim is removed and the fuzzy channel has been removed. Can someone please instruct me how to remove the glass? Thanks, Greg
  6. New drums should be available from Kanter Auto Parts. 76 NOnroe St, Boontown, NJ 07055 - 800-536-1096. Greg
  7. I do not necessairly want to remove the clips. What I need to know is how do you remove the stainless trim from the doors and rear quarter panel of a 1947 Plymouth without damaging the trim. Is the trim snapped onto the clips? On other trim pieces the clips are bolted through the body. The door trim clips appear to be attached by flairnig a tab that penetrates the body panel. Thanks, Greg
  8. I want to remove all stainless trim from my 47 four door for a repaint. How are the door trim and rear quarter panel peices attached? Are they snapped onto the clips. If so what is the best way to remove them without damaging the trim? On my car the clip attachements are flaired inside the door panel, so they appear not to be removable. Thanks, Greg
  9. Is anyone aware of a resonable easy conversion kit for front disk brakes for a 1947 Plymuth? I am about to do a complete brake replacement but if there is a disk conversion, I would prefer it. Greg
  10. Thanks guys for all the responses. I feel certain that Merle and Grey Beard are correct. Note in the responses that there are two types of canisters. One has a bolt on top and the other has a wing nut type twist on top. I have one like Merle. I have also been told by the folks at "Vintage Power Wagons" who sold me the canister, that in reality it does not make any difference which way it is plumbed. After two rebuilds by an idiot and the last one by myself and friends the engine is back together and in the car. If all goes well I will have her running this week end. Greg
  11. I have purchased a canister type oil filter with the sock insert for My P15. The old replaceable metal filter had the inlet at the top and the outlet at the bottom. The metal case for the canister type has the top conntection marked as "outlet". Am I right to connect the "in" at the bottom and the "out" at the top connection? Thanks, Greg
