  1. Yeah, that's what I thought until I read in the maintenance (Group Index #8) section about the differences which has me a little confused. Plug gap, float level, timing.
  2. Thanks guys. Now I'll reference the Tech section to determine the timing, plug gap, point gap, etc. for a Dodge engine rather than what I've since found out are Plymouth specs. Does it matter that much however?
  3. Bump.
  4. Displacement?
  5. Hi, I just joined this group today. I have a '42 Fargo with a CDN Dodge engine. I'm hoping someone can ID it for me. The engine ID number is D56 155220 (or perhaps D36 133220). In the maintenance section I notice that some of the specs (plug gap, float level) are different between Plymouth and Dodge which I didn't know. I'm having some difficulty setting the timing. Was working fine but now it doesn't want to start. Plus the timing marks on the crank pully are gone so I've tried to set it when #1 piston is at the top of the compression stroke. No luck getting it to start so far though. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi there. My name is Lawrence and I just joined today. I have a '42 Fargo 1/2 ton Pick-up. The engine is out of a '51(?) canadian Dodge apparently. Thought I would join as another resource to keep this truck on the road.
  7. Perhaps a leak down test is in order if you are having any serious problems. better than a compression test as it points you to the specific area where the problem is.
  8. I presume that those pipe plugs come out and you run coolant through them. At least that's what I hope as I have an Ellis as well.
