  1. was in the process of setting up for a 51 331 extended bell hemi. sold the motor to help with medical bills awhile ago.
  2. Flatie46, all i have to say is enjoy life because you never know whats coming down the road and will leave it at that. Knuckleharley i hear what you are saying and is why i have only posted on this web site. If i wanted to scrap it i could easily do it myself, lots of scrap buyers around me right here. I need to tie up loose ends quickly and is why it is free to GOOD home. I feel confident that somebody from the group will do the right thing.
  3. Hey Rich, car is free to good home, located in pottstown area. Thanks for putting out the word.
  4. Pottstown Pa 19465
  5. Ok so here"s the deal, i started redoing my 1951 Plymouth concord business coupe about 4 years ago. Some of you might remember pics i posted while the work was going on. Due to reasons way beyond my control it has become clear that i will never be able to finish the build. I am willing to GIVE whats left of the car to someone who wants it to either finish or use the parts. I have a clear pa antique title in my name. No i didnt not go insane but i am the type of person who would rather see it go to some one who can do something with it instead of just letting it set in the top of my barn. Whom ever gets the car will need to help me clear out around it so it can be moved. The body is sitting up on blocks and frame is sitting under it. If interested please know that you will need help to move it out onto your trailer. I have all the sheet metal, frame, rear, all the chrome trim and alot of little stuff. The firewall was cut and moved back some to fit the motor i had built for it, pads were welded in for motor mounts, will need floors, small amount of trunk work. This car is in no way beyond fixing i just will not be able to do it myself. If interested contact me and we can set up a time for you to come see whats involved in getting it. I have put some pics so you can get some idea where the build is.
  6. well its time to start doing the rear set up, has anyone done a 4 link set up in there old ride, if so any tips? By the way the hemi transplant is all set up and looking good, put a Muncie m20 behind it and now an doing the front and rear set ups. Speedway for the gasser front end with a 8 3/4 rear (if I can find a good set up)

  7. that's not for the distributor, that's a oil fill tube.
  8. yea I could have hopped up the flathead, and I'm sure it seams like a lot of extra work and expense putting the hemi in there, but I wanted to build something different, and since I have the time and enjoy doing the project, why not?
  9. sorry it has been awhile but things are going kind of slow right now. hemi is coming along nicely. did have to do some firewall work but that also is falling in place. I have decided to go with a m20 muncy for the tranny and was able to pick one up at carsile a couple weeks ago.
  10. going with a flaming river steering set up. going to make my own headers so no trouble there. i have 3" to work with in reguards to front/back motor positioning, which seems to be pleanty, do not even have to move firewall, bell sits nice in tunnel so far, like i stated before this is only a rough mock up so when it comes down to actully bolting this beast down i'm sure there will be some modding of parts but i dodn't see any major surgury, and like forrest gump said "thats good"!
  11. ok, here is the latest update, started doing my rough in of hemi and was really surprised how much room I have to work with, do not have to cut front frame rails! will work very nicely with what I have to work with. since I am running gasser headers over the outside of the frame rail space is no an issue at all. These are only rough in pics but they show how nice things are coming along
  12. i saw that write up info on the web about the 50 gasser, really good write up, some killer ideas. I am in pottstown. Also as i am going to be deleating stock steering i will be puttiing up the steering box and the front suspension up for sale. It is all in nice shape and can be bolted right on, fresh paint and grease. Springs are no good so in the scrap pile they go.
  13. getting the front end stripped out and ready to cut off front frame stubs for gasser set up
  14. will be posting pics as more progress is made, right now I am in the process of tearing the hemi down and prepping for machine shop.
  15. I am located in southeast pa, also stock rear complete is going to need a new home, that will be free also. prev. owner already converted it to accept u-joints.
  16. ok guys, here's the deal, since I am totally dedicated to the hemi swap, which is coming along, I was up in the barn and decided to get ride of the things I have been tripping over the last 6 months and I really need the room for my current build. all items are FREE to whom ever comes and gets them, included are 2 218 motors, the original which I pulled from my 51 coupe car ran good when pulled, all internals are still in block, all externals have been pulled and set aside, some gaskets and it should be ready to install, the 2nd 218 was a froze motor given to me, this has valve train still inside, no intake/exhaust manifold. the 3rd is a 230, I think its a 54 model, this one is totally torn down, this one does not have a flywheel and intake/exhaust manifold. There are generator's, bell housings, distributers, flywheels, clutches and misc parts. No, I'm not a guy with to much money or to few brains, just cant see good things sitting around going to waist when somebody may be able to use them. The 230 will require machine work but I do not think it is past the point of no return. The 2nd 218 is pretty rough shape, had to drill a piston to remove it, but with enough work it could be saved. The only catch is these parts need to be picked up here, will not ship. Drop me a line if interested. Once again these parts are free to a good home. They are all the 23" blocks.
  17. does anyone know what parts interchange with this motor? what 354,392 parts will interchange-push rods, connecting rods, ect. am going to switch over to big block chevy water pump and use the newer "short" cam set up. Please keep in mind i am not building a racing motor, it will be a nice show piece with aliitle thump on cam. Am going more for the WOW factor then anything else. Also have decided to put a t5 behind this motor.
  18. well, looks like there done, i called the number and got a recording saying there not taking orders from catalog, what a stroke of bad luck. i have gotten alot from them in the past, but now it's time to find another good source.
  19. yea we are low tech here, but we get the job done
  20. so I'm guessing they are only thru e-bay now? that's sucks!
  21. hello all, well I started my 331 hemi transplant into my 51 coupe this winter. car needed some attention so I tore her down to shell and frame over the past 5 months, decided a motor swap was something I have wanted to do for quite some time and finally decided on putting in a 331 hemi I picked up. got a LONG way to go but have done a lot of homework on this and decided to go for it. seems almost all the people I spoke to about it were singing the praises of doing a small block chebby, but I just don't want to be like 99% of what I see at the shows and really don't want anything but a mopar powerplant. I figured why not go for it and stay old school with the 331 hemi. I will try to keep updating my progress as it goes. If anyone has any good input, I'm all ears.
  22. Hello all, been awhile since I've posted, been busy with coupe and rebuild project. Here's my question, I picked up a 331 hemi and am going to do a transplant in the coupe, having trouble finding paw website, can someone give me a web address for them?
  23. are you going to install a pcv valve or stay with the downdraft tube?
  24. ply adams, do you know for a fact that these will work? Nice price, just want to be sure they are a good fit for car before installing, Thanks
  25. just looking to get back to stock height, in that pic I was running 15" on rear and 14" on front. that's why it looks lowered.
