  1. Dale I have someone to pick up the parts if you still have them by chance.

  2. What is the best (easiest) frame to use for my 1948 Dodge Business Coupe? Body is really good, frame is not. Considering the wheelbase and all is there a close matching year and model car that would work best? Regards, Dale Newbee to car grime and like it!
  3. I have a 1948 Dodge 2-door business coupe. What is the closest vehicle to use as the fame to put the body on? My current frame, motor, brakes etc are too far gone to use. I would like to install the body on something since I have purchased all the body parts that were bad and have repaired the interior. Is a S-10 or Ranger, old K-car etc compatible? I know the wheelbase is 119.5" I know there are some VERY experianced builders on here since I have been reading some of the awesome fixes that have taken smarts and experience which I consider I have a little smarts but VERY little experience. Any and all info would be a great help in pointing me in the right direction. Thank you in advance, Dale Wray
  4. Once again I have been given some good advice, info and great ideas. That is why I keep asking! Thank you, Dale
  5. VERY new to old cars!!! I have a '48 3 passenger business coupe that needs some body work. Is 18 gauge galvinized steel ok to use for repairs? If not what is? It also has (2) backup lights, should there be only (1)? I have asked for help before and was happy for all of the kind responses. Best regards, Dale Wray
  6. I need (2) backup light bezels part number CB-14094. I understand these were an add on and my '48 D24S has them, but are rough. I would also like a rear bumber (Fluid Drive engraved). That too is rough. Please pass on any info you all may have!!! Regards
  7. What gauge and type of metal should I use in body repair on my 3 passenger coupe? Is spot welding even an option?
  8. Thank you all for the help. I will start my search. Dale
  9. What modern wheels will fit my '48 Dodge 3 window business Coupe with 15" wheels? Looking to keep original wheels but need to have something for use while working on car. I understand I can purchase "universal" rims, but more types are available on Craigslist, and cheaper. Still learning as much as I can. Dale Wray
  10. I'm in Marysville Ohio. Will get pictures when I bring her home. Picking her up tomorrow evening. Had to get a car hauler. The left hand and right hand threads was a great tip. My FIRST Mopar, so...very greatful.
  11. SWEET car!!!
  12. Thanks guys. A lot to ponder... I am open minded on mod's for safety, so I will make sure I gather all info on doing what will be the best to that extent. Again, I am a Junior Member and all that I do is count on everyones experience. DEW
  13. Thank you for the heads up. I want to leave it as stock as possible, so the info was most helpful. I'll be starting on her this weekend and will for sure uncover alot of unknowns. I do my best to read and discuss to try to help myself as much as I can. I am a machinist so I am able to do some things. I need a floor pan for front and trunk so I will be trying to locate those as well. Once again, THANK YOU, Dale
  14. New here and new to car restoration. Just purchased a '48 Coupe and was wondering how to cross the old wheels to new wheels. Also have a ? on if I need to put a lead additive into fuel? Original flat-6. Looking forward to soaking up all the vast experience that I have seen so far from reading these posts. Regards to all, DEW
