Brian your a day ahead of me!!!!!!!!!!!!! i Just got my kit in today. Rockport mentioned relief port............if you look through the filler hole down to the bottom of the master cyl. you see a hole I cleaned that hole but mine looks like it has 2 holes one looks smaller than the other. I tried poking a tip cleaner thru the other one but couldnt. so is there just 1 hole are 2? yours is looking good.

Hello again all ! Yep im still here. I check in nearly everyday and search the threads for help. This place is a library of knowledge. Ok heres where we are...took the carb completely apart cleaned it motor runs good now. I drove it about 5 miles (no brakes) shifts good sounds good hopefully all good. Pulled the mastercylinder out and ordered kit from napa. Completely stripped the interior. I bought a sheet of luanne and cut my door panels out. My daughter took them home with her yesterday, called me tonight and said she was thru with the back door panels and was working on the arm rests. Shes doing it in a cow hide print I havnt seen them yet either! Dont nobody snicker or im gonna lose it ! She said the seats are going to be dark brown with the cow hide strip down the middle of them. Ok movin on.I have some sheet metal work to do on the drivers side floorboard and some around the trunk area where the latch is. I decided to stick with the 6 volt system and rewire it all, cause if you just bend a wire a little bit the cloth falls off and your looking at a naked wire, plus some wires are burnt up anyway. Teresa (wife) and Jamie (daughter) want me to paint it dark brown and paint the front doors white with a gold star in the middle and write dirt road patrol on it. Oh and a red flashing light on top. They say it just looks like an ol timey cop car lol. Well thats where i am now and still lovin her. Brian

Took the seats out today and took a water hose to it to wash all the rat pills out:eek: 1965 mustang coup almost done 1971 ford ranger needs painting again 1949 and 1950 farmall c tractors 1 done 1 needs paint 3 1966 mustangs will take all 3 to make 1 car.(probly never do) 1965 chevrolet 2 ton truck it runs but needs gas tank, drive shaft, fan, and a radiator 2 early 50s john deere B tractors (havnt started) 1972 VW bug (havnt started) 1953 chevrolet 4 door sedan it runs good but needs a lot of body work all interior and glass Maybe Ill live that long! Dyin dont bother me its just bein gone so long!!!

Glad to hear it all went well. Your right its amazing what doctors can do now. I hope he lives to be a hundred.

My 46 P15 doesnt have the clamshell type, it just has 2 tubes 1 for the front 3 cyl. wires and 1 for the back 3 to go through.

Thankyou Falcon, cant afford to completely restore her now. Im just shooting for being able to drive it right. Im thinking i might have fuel pump problems now, cant get gas to the carb.

Thanks Greg Ill use that until i can get it all rewired. I knew it had a positive ground system on it just dont know why they did them that way.

Ive been browsing through this site for several weeks now and learned a lot that i didnt know. Just joined and got a great welcome. Bob really helped me already, even took pictures to show me what it looks like thanks again. Ok decided before I got to deep in this project I should see if she would even run. All the wires are either melted or rotten so I ran a hotwire to the coil, filed the points (long story),put a battery in (went straight to the starter being i dont have a key), poured some gas in the carb and low and behold she fired up ! Well for a few seconds but at least I know she will run!

Thanks for the welcome and the websites guys! I hate to see anything produced before the 70s go to the scrap yard. Had a guy that lives down the road aways give me an old gas pump and grille out of an old truck he was going to haul for scrap! Old rat im going for a driver no way i can i afford to fully restore her. Anyway thanks again for the welcome.

hey all, i just acquired a 1946 special deluxe the other day, i love it so far. minor rust around the bottom of trunk and drivers side floor board. wont run but motor is free. seats are tore to shreads. door panels fall apart when you touch them no headliner at all. no brakes, pedal goes to the floor and just stays there! put some brake fluid in master cyl. pumped awhile but nothing. front drivers and passenger windows cracked. lots of the wiring either burnt or rotted off. the gas tank looks good but full of holes, worked on that today tho. didnt break but one of the straps taking the tank off. not sure if the color is brown or if its just that rusty. didnt come with any keys so none to the ignition, doors, or glove box. none of the wheels match. all 4 tires are rotten. 2 empty holes left of ignition switch ? an empty hole in center of dash by the windshield? an eyeball shaped piece of chrome on dash over steering wheel with a little hole in the center of it? did these cars come with blinkers? mine dont even have a blinker switch in it. i think the only brake light it has is the one in the center, right? my gosh reading back over this my new car sounds like a basket case lol. sure does have a cool spotlight on it tho. my wife says its as ugly as pootin in church.
