Hi guys i know how a Mechanical speedo works with the rotating magnetic field, and being balances with the hairspring to give you your speed. but here my ? if you take out your speedo gauge and put in a later model one or even a ford one or one from a U.K. car. as long as the fitting on the back of the speedo gauge all fit wood it still read the same speed ? or are the magnetic field all differant.

this is want i was told by an old guy for hubcups. mask off as much as you can then spray paint. let it sime dry and then useing a hard form or soft rubber and very very fine sandpaper go lightly over the area to rough up the paint. then useing thiner and a tight rag on and the same form or rubber pad unit all the unwanted paint has gone. it come up real good and nice clean edges.

in NEW Zealand we don't use salt on the roads. but they have been talk of putting salt on the desert road when it snow on it. that about 2-4 week of the year

I agree Norm to. i had a friend who had a 1937 dodge sedan witch he had got for the running gear and doors and trim. he was about to throw it away. i ask if i could have what was left over. he gave me it for free as he said you will have to dump it. for about half days work i got and sold. fire wall and door piller and the back window fame all to one guy. and the sold the frame to another person. and the back side of the car from the back door back end up with a little pile of rust. work out to be about $100 an hour for 3 hours work. here in New Zealand parts are so hard to come by. i know of a person who had to make one good door out of 3 badly rusty doors.
