Do you think by tightening up this missing bolt the vibration will also be repaired? I rev the eng. up, not knowing what rpm, but you can feel the harmonic vibration. I thought a metal to metal frt. rubber mt. was the problem. Just happen to lightly pry on the balancer when I was centering the new frt. mt. studs in place when I saw the harmonic walk out to the end of the crank......

Can anyone tell me where I can find a crank bolt to hold the frt. pully hub on my crankshaft? Mine is gone. If not, can anyone tell me the dia. & pitch of the threads, also the length so I can get one to fit? Thanks, Paul

Thanks for the info. I think the car has been driven for yrs. without the bolt. Not by me but the previous owner. I found a bolt at work. 5/8" 1/1/2 inch long NF thread. Can't tell if it fits. Will need to remove the radiator to access. May get rid of the vibration too. I didn't realize it was missing until I changed the rubber mt. It was metal to metal. thought that was the cause of the vibration. Wrong.

Don't know if this is the correct place to ask a question. My 48 Plymouth coupe crank pulley has no center bolt holding it in place. When I was replacing the frt. eng. mt. I pryed lightly on the pulley & noticed it slid forward. The keyway is loose and I can move back & forth slightly & the only thing holding the pulley from flying off is the 12 volt alt. belt. I also have a vibration in neutral when I rev the eng. up Paul

Thankyou for your reply. I now know my a-arms & drums have been modified or changed out. Can I send you a pic through my email name? I need some more help. Long story short. I bought the car from a friend, he bought it on impulse. Knows nothing of the history. Pretty much stock coupe. It is so low that I can't turn the wheels very far & the oil pan is about 2 inches from the ground. I found some 70's coil spring spacers in my garage & put them in the springs to raise it up. That helped alot. Before this, I ordered some coil springs from Coil Spring Specialties that are 2 " lower than stock. I now have noticed that the lower a-arms are modified. They have been cut, a 1/4 " piece of flat bar welded on & the knuckle ends welded back at about 2" raised position. So the car may have been lowered by the springs & by the a-arm mods. Hi everyone. I bought a 48 Plymouth. I was wondering if anyone can identify a picture of the lower a-arm. Is it modified or are they like this stock? I also have right hand thread lug nuts on the drivers side front & rear. Is this stock? Well, I don't have any idea how to insert pictures from my camera so I guess I can't show you.
