  1. x2 on that one
  2. half can of ether / starting fluid on a 68 New Yorker 383 made an awfully large boom......and deafened by brother in law who was under the hood at the time for a few minutes.......after that, it sounded like NASCAR ! the impetuousness of youth
  3. i was at the local farm supply last week for a drive belt, saw they had cab deodorizers at the counter. box of 2 packs of deodorizers was 18 bucks, said for mouse / animal smell for trucks and tractors that sit in sheds and barns, maybe a few would soak some up..... my buddy used to buy cars that were heavily smoked in, he would set them in the hot sun with open pails of white vinegar sitting on the floors, a few days and a few fresh pails of vinegar would help alot.
  4. some more pics after i pressure washed it after I got it home..
  5. is that the outer b pillar swung up on the drivers side???
  6. went today before the rain to install the front wheels and get the rear higher to mount rubber there.....and noticed that someone had taken one of the left hand studs from the battery tray under the closed hood and also they removed the dangling "E" from the hood and placed it in the battery tray.....i can't say as I think the guy i bought it from did that, glad it will be coming home soon....it's pouring now, i was hoping it would stay clear and i could get the rears on and work on hooking up the tow bar tonight after my wife gets home, i'm glad it's only 5 minutes away. Derek
  7. love the coupe.....the markers fore and aft on mine are tacky add ons, hate them really, not sure how much hacking was involved installing, lets hope just 2 screw holes per and one wire cavity.
  8. I sure am excited.....it does have it's place in ,line though, my truck is first, but I'll be looking for some odds and ends for this one in the mean time.....and doing little things. I'd like to give it a good cleaning, it's supposed to warm up next week......i had the hot water on for the pressure washer today, the air temp just cooled the water off, so the result was negligible. here's to sunny days !
  9. took all my orig rims in today, new used tires and checked the tubes, all ok, aired up new skins and she'll be rollin' home within the week. life's good
  10. I have one pr of ford steel 15's and one spr of mopar 15's, both pairs have smaller holes between each of the lug holes, so i could just open one up per wheel... i pressure washed the original wheels and tires and will take them to the local tire shop and get their opinion, maybe have them strip the rubber off and check the beads.........will update
  11. I'm kinda tempted to just take my 4 1/2 " grinder and cut off wheel to his house and be done with them...the speedo reads 95xxx or so if i recall, so they would be done anyways I'm guessing. they will most likely be going to scrap anyways....although drilling the rims is tempting as well, as the pins do serve a purpose semi holding the wheel there...and I don't have alot of room to get by the side if the house / fence where it sits now.....hmmm....
  12. if anyone has a front grille emblem for a reasonable price, let me know. driver quality would do, not the 250.00 one i saw just surfing around last night...
  13. Thanks for the info Fred, I'm a stickler for the little details.....The car most likely won't roll under it's own power for a while, but I'd love all the hood letters intact and better park lamp lenses. email me with what you may have...mbmopar@hotmail.com Derek
  14. Cool Aero, I knew there was a larger "family" out there, and hope you enjoyed the Manitoba run......was it raining? If not I can tell you exactly which 3 days you were here.
  15. I have a funny feeling that this is just a 3 spd standard, as it is a re-badged Plymouth, and there are all original badges as far as I can tell and no fluid drive indication on any....and I haven't been under the car per say, it was about 1/2 " off the ground when I first saw it, and now I've blocked it up about a foot to swap wheels, but it's right beside a house and closer to a fence, I'll have to wait until I pull it out about 20 feet and get some serious air under it with the big floor jack. The fellow told me he drove it some, then he left the plugs out and it got water in the bores???? not quite sure how that happened unless a: the hood was open for years which I doubt, or he hosed the open plug holes for some reason, alas, he says he tried with 2x4's to free it up, again, not sure what a 2x4 will do without the head off, but I think a newer drive line may be an option here. anyone know how to remove the dowel pins that locate the rims on the brake drums, I did this on my 55 but that was over 5-6 years ago, and i fergets. I have newer rims to swap on and would prefer not to drill out the holes.
