  1. I talked to CJ which is C&J Automotive 5909 E. Firestone South Gate, CA 90280 --close to Long Beach CA. $150 for a complete rebuild on the steering box. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Steve
  2. I haven't gotten far enough to know if it is stamped or cast. Unless it was removed and holes welded up, it doesn't have a spare tire carrier.
  3. I have built and restored my vehicles myself. I have done everything except paint my 55. I have a 37 Ford and 55 Chevy, both 2dr sedans. The 37 is in flat black paint (John Deere implement black) with accents and the 55 is gloss black. I bought the 55 in 1983 and have obviously had it for 26 years, the 37 in 1995. I am actually planning to use the Dodge as a truck and am going to make it serviceable and safe. It has a rebuilt engine, leaking fuel pump and inop brakes. I found the wheel cylinders at Car Quest, Master at Napa and brake hoses at Autozone. The funny thing is that no one place has it all. I would really like to have a dual chamber master cylinder and split the front and back. I know nothing about Dodge trucks other than there aren't any around here that I know of. Mine did not have a heater, radio and is a 3 window. I don't know if that is standard or what?
  4. Well I bought it. I need to replace the master cylinder. Is there a dual chamber cylinder that can be used. Also how about the steering box, can it be rebuilt are there parts? thanks, Steve
  5. Hi, I am a new guy considering a 51 that is in pretty good shape. I have always owned either Fords or Chevys and parts are very plentiful. I am wondering if there are "ample" or "few" places to procure Dodge truck parts? How about body parts? thanks, Steve
