  1. Looking for a wiring harness but not concourse de elegance. prices seem to be $150 to $1500. something decent but below $500 if possible. Thanks ! Tim 38
  2. Mounting the leaf spring to the frame mount I found it a little sloppy on my 38 Ply BC . Just wondering if there is a washer on each side of the spring ? I cant find a decent picture in Master parts or Plymouth service manual.
  3. Talked with George Aschein PA. He runs a triple carb dual exhaust 1929 Desoto. Well he is 90 years old. Mild cam, dual exhaustand dual carbs adds 40 hp to Canadian 25 in h motor. Sounds good and l will take the extra power. Looks good too!
  4. I need a drag link end for a 38 Canadia business coupe. The Canadian screws into the drag link. The American threads over the top. Any help or a Canadian part number would be great. Thanks

  7. My 38 Canadian business coupe is a Maroon color. I have done some checking was not able to track it down. It looks as though you guys have found the color. I am finding it very frustrating tracking down Canadian parts. Charles Salvato is trying help me track down tie rod ends and the tie rod connecting the drag link to the steering knuckle arm. I would like to know why the difference between the mfg locations. The part or tie rod is Canadian only according to my pictures. I see only 2 tie rod ends on American cars . I have read there was a steering change in 38. Anyways l need that 3rd tie rod that threads into the drag link. American is opposite as it threads on top of it.
  8. I just found out I have a 228 in my 38 business Coupe which was made in Windsor Canada. To find out we crossed the engine ID with the casting number on the rod. All along I thought it was a 218. The weird thing is it is a truck Motor in a car. it is a 3 3/8 bore. Honestly i will take the added power. I am currently rebuilding it to accommodate 3 7/16 pistons. I am wondering what the big difference is between truck and car motors ?
  9. My Car has a 6 cylinder motor 25 long with a 3 3/8 bore. the only motor that match's that in 38 was a 230. I think it was used in a Desoto also. Since my car is Canadian made it did not used the 201. The 218 with a 3 3/8 bore was not made until 1940. Windsor put 25 inch engines in there 38 cars. They did not begin building the 25 engines until summer 38. My motor had to come from the USA. 3 3/8 bore is either a Truck motor or from a Desoto. Since Canada only made 10,000 P6 deluxe coupes maybe yhe USA increased production to accommodate Canada. So the options are small for a 3 3/8 bore. it has to be a 230 I am thinking. Unless Truck motors are listed under a different heading. I need some help on this .
  10. Is your car Canadian made ?
  11. My car has a 1938 218 Truck motor . The USA I think exported 218 to Windsor in fall 1938 because Windsors 218 plant didn't go online until spring of 1938. I have been doing a lot of research on this and using common sense figure this is what happened. Windsor decided at the time to use 218's not 201's. Since the USA had truck motors available they exported them to Windsor for there 38 models. If I could find somebody with a 1938 business coupe made in Windsor i could find out possibly what motor they have to verify. my 218 has been confirmed to have been built in October 1937 and my car is the 496th built. so that close to a match in time. looking at the motor which I tore apart yesterday I would say its original or a 100,000 mile motor. never seen a more gummed up motor in my life. The engine mounts are shot which is typical to original. any thoughts pro or con would be appreciated. one other point is Canada did there own thing. my color chart on my 38 is different then USA.
  12. The Plymouth motor in 1938 that was made in Canada was a 218. They decided to make only one motor for economic reasons. they could not support making a 201 and a 218. They went with a 218 25" because they could use that block for a larger variety of engine offerings. I have not confirmed it yet but the 218 in Canada did not get up to production until January 2018. that means the USA sent 218 truck motors to Canada to augment P6 production until there 218 line was up and running in January 2018. I have a early 38 P6 Deluxe coupe with a 218 truck motor which was made in Windsor. I need to find a similar production run Car that has a 218 truck motor built in it before January 1938 to confirm. From what I read all Canadian motors were 218 at least at the start of production in 1938. FYI my car has a block heater. my engine number is T584753. The casting numbers are 10-13 and 666029-2. It was the 496 P^ made off the line and if 10-13 is what I think it is then the motor was made in the USA on 10-13 -37 and shipped to Windsor to be installed in my car.
  13. I ended up buying what I thought was a 1937 Plymouth business coupe which turned out to be a P6 Deluxe coupe made in Windsor Canada. i believe it was produced in early 38. I have a stamped paint code 1736 and trim code A K H. wondering if i could get some help with the codes. It is currently painted a maroon. I have my doubts its original. The car is all original with the 201 6 cylinder. power washing the frame today. It is clean. The body is OK . Not a lot of rust. The floor in front of the seat needs replaced. other then replacing that and the rockers I should be OK. Great car and from what I have read a lot of new innovations for the time. it will stay original and stock. too cool to chop up.
