Thank you for your feedback yes the screw I took out trying to open the top shifter cover. And yes it is a grinding noise and yes it’s a four speed.i mostly want to take the cover apart to see if anything is out of order in there. I imagine that if anyone knows how to change the shifter rod it would help me with taking apart the whole cover.

hello folks i need help with the fluid drive transmission i have taken it apart to see if i can find out what the problem is with shifting it makes a loud noise every time i shift gears but as i get to the top shifter i can't figure out how it comes apart there is that funnel like spring that seems to not be attached to anything at the bottom of the rod. if anyone knows how to do this or can provide explorer view schematics i will appreciate the info by the way there's no synchro's in this transmission

Hello my 1950 special deluxe is not starting for a while after it’s hot it starts after cooling down. If I move the timing then it starts even when hot but the car runs hard and engine is racing but it doesn’t get to shifting speeds. I will appreciate any input on what to do If anyone has had this experience

Hi my new project. On my 1950 pilot house is to install a rack and pinion kit but have trouble finding any information on it. Where to buy for my truck, there’s-a post on eBay for one supposed to fit on that truck but the seller can’t really make dedicated instructions for me to see available. i wonder if anyone has done this kind of work on their trucks and what input can they give me about it. I’ll appreciate any kind of help that any one can offer.

Thanks ! I went for a little ride and gave it a try. I could see the difference but it is still kind of hard to do.. I guess as you said practice makes perfect.. So i will practice hopefully i will get it ... Do not want to change the transmission..

Hi i have a 1950 pilothouse non synchro my gears make a lot of noise when shifting i have 4 on the floor fluid dr. how can i make the gears come in softly? Does anyone have any ideas?
