I found this "Y" adaptor from vintage speed. and was wondering if anyone has used one? Pro's/Con's if any? and if so what carbs, linkage setup etc. etc. any help would be great, i have a '50 4 door plymouth with stock 6 cyl. want to dress up the motor a little bit and am curious if this setup would ad a little umph to the ol girl or just end up looking cool with no end results. Thanks!

I have a '50 plym. flathead 6does anybody have a recomendation for a louder but good sounding exhaust setup while still using stock manifold? my muffler is rotted and leaks so i wanna replace it. but would like that mean flathead sound. also what are the cons of runing a straight pipe back from stock manifold. I thought about getting a torque cone like they use in motorcylcle for some backpressure and just run a pipe back. thanks, and im sorry for prob. some already covered questions. .zach

looks to be "PI8" is the "I" supposed to be a "1" or an "I"?? sorry for all the stupid questions guys, i'm just happy that you all are willing to give up all your info on these cars! nobody around here really can tell me much about them. thanks again

love that car Pete! ya, i've got the "plymouth" letters and the top piece of grill trim to put on after i grind off the plug welds from the back side of the hood and fenders. Oh yeah, and antenna was a very crappy after market and since been removed.

yeah i saw that truck for sale a while back, not bad. as far as the "special deluxe" script very well could have been, the car has been givin a bondo bath and repainted, hehe, the steering knob came off my old john deere combine. i love a suicide knob! although i will say my plym. steers 10 times easier than my buddy's buick, and ford.

i know about the bumpers would like to find a front and rear. so for the horn ring, is there a second peice that mounts somewhere behind/in front of whats there? cuz its not broke, looks like it was made that way. at least there are no marks or breaks like the horn ring was snapped off.

here are some pics for ya, i know alot of you guys wont like what i did to the interior but the pic doesnt really show how bad the dash was, so saving the woodgrain was not in the cards for me. and i know the doors dont have any arm rests, but she only came with one, i still plan on making some out of walnut.

that patina is look'n damn good! i've seen alot of rides done this way now and will say the rats usually dont do anything to the paint, most of the time you need a tetnus shot just to work on it:eek: and i love rat rods! but being able to run my fingers across the body and have rust build up all over my fingers just aint me. but everybody is diff. thats whats great about this hobby. if your wanting a clear coat just to protect your fingers and skin, and not be shinny on the paint. then rattle can clear coat in my opinion would be the best. it goes on kinda dull and almost powdery, it does not feel smooth nor look shinny. 60 deg. out huh? well whats your humidity like? if you really want a patina leave her how she is outside for a week or two and then rattle can the clear on. you'll really have a origional look then. just my two cents, if it makes any.
