  1. Hey Guys!! Thanks for all the kind words. Sadly full time is not an option. That's ok. That said, I'm quite happy being back on the road part time. I have no compassion for these "people" that say, "I can't find a job"! Since my release from the Doctor's to go back to driving the phone hasn't stopped ringing! Might need to buy a bigger hat!
  2. What a fantastic "support group"! Thanks Crew!
  3. Hey Crew! Forgive my absence this year. Been a tough one for the Powell's. After 2.5 years of rehab I finally received an ok to return to work part time. Taking one trip a weekend for WW Transportation here in Burlington. Every Other week I'll be making deliveries a few hours a day for Heartland Packaging. Part Time Only. No Overnight Trips. The first semi I ever drove was a Mack. Funny how life keep rolling around full circle. With WW & Heartland plus S/S I hope to be able to pay for my free health care. Was out in the shop yesterday and "The Harlem Hussy" was sound asleep. Cheers!
  4. Holy Cow I'm Proud To Be A Part Of This Group. My Father was Air Force. We flew over Pearl Harbor departing Hawaii for Japan, 1964. Close as I've been. I salute all that have served and continue to serve.
  5. That is priceless!!! Too funny casper50. My Lori is even laughing.
  6. Wonderful & thoughtful responses. I try to remember everyday the cost of our freedom. Along with a declaration of war being signed on this day in history, another less significant event happened 34 years ago today. Tim & Lori Powell married. 12/08/1984 thru 12/08/2018. Holy Cow, I put up with her 34 years and counting???????
  7. Hey Crew! Sorry I've been AWOL. Been a rough summer but we're hanging on! Hope everyone is safe and well!! Should have more "Plymouth Time" this winter! Next Saturday is the Veteran Parade in downtown Quincy Illinois, followed by a second parade at the Quincy Veteran's Home. Hope some of you can attend. As always our little Southeast Iowa group will attend with our vehicles.
  8. On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which triggered major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defined the presidency of George W. Bush.
  9. Hello Crew! How is everyone holding up? Seems some of you must be under water and some on fire. Been hot and humid here in the Midwest but that's better than shoveling snow! Been working on several projects this summer, but moving awfully slow. Trying to finish a trailer I started a long time ago and rebuilding my Lori's old jon-boat. Gotta' get gone, but I'll be back!
  10. Crops in the mid-west going in the ground like crazy but the gnats are our main resource right now!
  11. Great Time Yes!!! Great Time Maybe??? Great Time Better Than Going To Work, Pulling Wrenches On The Toys!!! Definitely! Lori Say's "Hey"!
  12. Had the 1952 Dodge M37 out for her first event of the year last Saturday. An Armed Forces Day display. Not as many trucks showed this year but everyone had a good time! Our 2 vehicles, the Dodge and our Chevy replica M1008 on display, Wapello Iowa. 05/19/2018
  13. Hey Guys! Glad to hear everyone is getting their vehicles out! We had the M37 out for it's first display last Saturday. I'll post that on the truck page.
  14. Good Morning Crew! Just a quick good morning & happy spring. Finally dug the "48" out from under all her blankets and wow is she dusty. Gotta' give her a bath and shine. We did take her our and stretched her legs. Runs like a top.
  15. Good Morning Ranger, DrDoctor & Crew! Born in Iowa to a Military Father we lived all over the world. Settled in Iowa and will stay until the end. I will stay busy for sure, have lots of fun projects for my Lori & Myself to finish. I will learn to enjoy everyday of retirement! That said, DrDoctor, I don't know how you lasted 32 years in healthcare. Holy~Cow the people you must have dealt with. My Lori and I have been dealing with a few "health issues" of as we like to say, "LIFE"! We sit in the waiting room and watch people. all I can say is. WOW, how did you do it. Looking at the "big picture" WE HAVE NO PROBLEMS! Better get gone but I'll be back.
  16. Hey Guys!! Another Plymouth sighting! I think????? Duh, what's under the pile of blankies?
  17. Hey Pflaming. I fully understand. My first hobby is "worry" followed closely by my shop full of old trucks, cars and boats. Plenty to do and enjoy doing. My Lori and My health sometimes slow us down but never put us in park! Too ornery for that. Just need to pace ourselves. Sure am ready for spring.
  18. In my 42 years on the road I hauled heavy equipment in and out of Canada, never made it to Alaska. Still not sure I like being retired but it was nice to be home to help out around the house this winter.
  19. Hey Plymouthy Adams! Nope. Never fell thru the ice yet, just got a bit disorientated this winter. All better now. Got a shop full of projects and plenty of time. Sort of waiting on the money tree to bloom.
  20. Hey Crew! How is everyone doing? Been a long winter at the Powell Motor-Pool but excited about spring being right around the corner. We saw this ole beauty sitting down the street next to an Auto Shop. Not sure who she belongs too. Hope to meet the owner one day soon. Location, West Burlington Iowa.
  21. 21 days into the New Year and I'm ready for spring. Anxious to get the "48" out for a drive!
  22. Thanks Guys! Had 4 inches of snow in Southeast Iowa Saturday. Yesterday was beautiful. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. 3 degrees when we got up at 05:30 today. Up to 9 degrees now! The technical scientific meteorologist terminology for this weather is "YUCK"! I love all the pictures and comments. The car top full of presents is so neat. Years ago I had a pretty cool winter toy but we sold it when we had our boat built.
