I'm pretty sure most or all coils are actually six volt, even on a 12 volt system. For me, the unknown is the switch from +ground to -ground. Will the governor and solenoid still operate like they are supposed to? It shouldn't make a difference but I haven't got that far on mine yet...not even close. Quote
