eric wissing Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I bought the new Ry Cooder CD, "I, Flathead". It is good. The title was enough to entice me. Eric Quote
Normspeed Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I just read the Amazon blurb and immediately put it on my wish list. How could ya go wrong with a CD about "petrolheads"? Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I am curious to listen the new Ry Cooder album as well. I've got me a dozen or more Cooder's albums and I like every single (!?) of them. Especially the classics like Borderline or Chicken Skin Music. Also the one but latest, Chavez Ravine, is fine record - Even if, compared to 70's R.C. albums, Mr. Cooder is more like a producer and guitarist in a band on this one. Top notch title on the newest, I agree. Quote
eric wissing Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 Uncle, this is much more stripped down. Guitar, bass, drums on most. I liked him from his Captain Beefheart days, "Electricity". "Jazz", Boderline", all good. I want to hear him play. The problem with most music today is that it is free so has no value!! Back in the old days(God I am old !!) we had to save for our record and choose carefully!!. Oh well life goes on!! Eric Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Hi Eric, So this new one is more like the good old Ry Cooder albums: Guitar rock/blues South-Cal./Mexican style? I definetely will get it for me. Thanks for the hint! /Pekka Quote
