blueskies
I hope it works. Looks like it's in great shape. Is that faded grey or primer? Stainless looks like it's in much better shape that what I started with. Only the beltline on mine was nice, the rest was mashed. PatS....
Looks like a decent start...what are your plans for it?
Joe Flanagan
Boy, that's in nice shape. It's a lot like mine (49 Special Deluxe), except that it is in way way better shape than mine was when I got it.

bob_amos
Nothing like a nice straight car to start with... Looks great.
Ex-coach
I found the car on the "bay" of all places and it was only 50 miles away from me. I saw the condition of the woodgrain on the dash and pulled the trigger on the buy it now. The car has been sanded down and primered by the previous owner's son. He bought the car for his 15 year old son for a first car but decided they needed something a little more modern. The son had already started sanding and priming so dad made him finish before putting it up for sale (good dad, start what you finish). The odometer shows 68000 miles and from what I see, I believe it. I drove it home and didn't have any problems. (Seeing that dash at night sure brought back memories of riding in Grandpa's 49 some 33 years ago.) The temperature gauge doesn't work and the turn signal switch is kaput but those are pretty minor. I thought the car was running a bit hotter than it should so I took the radiator to be boiled out. The rad shop guy said don't get my hopes up because most of the honeycomb radiators he has seen are beyond repair. It cleaned up fine however. My students are getting a kick out of seeing what it took to maintain a car of that era. I had the distributor rebuilt and put Charlie's disc brake kit on (the front shoes were down to the metal anyway). I still need to get the pressure valve out of the master cylinder and put the 2 and 10 pounders on as well as the proportioning valve but it's a start. I also need to do the rear main seal as it has leaked all over my shop floor. The interior is all there and intact but rotted. I have a former student that does paint and interior work so I will call him when funds permit. I am leaning toward Plymouth Cream but one disaster at a time. My goal is to make this a fun, weekend family cruiser while they can enjoy it (read: before they go off to college:D ). Dan
