48mirage Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360052482545&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=023 I was looking at this item and can't make these part numbers match. My reference material suggests that these may be parts from the pre 1942 time frame can anyone confirm this? Jim Quote
james curl Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I have requested the seller furnish the piston diameter in order to determine what they fit. If they are 3 1/4" in dia + .040" then they are for Plymouth/Dodge 218/230 cu in engines. If they are 3 7/16" +.040" in dia then they are Chrysler or De Soto big block pistons. You can buy a new set in several oversizes from Terrill Machine in DeLeon, Tx for $120.00 a set with pins pre fitted for Plymouth/Dodge or $135.00 a set for Chrysler/DeSoto with pins also pre fitted. Check the mans add later to see if he answered my question. Quote
james curl Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 The 3 1/4" dia pistons are for 34 to 59 Dodge and 42 t0 59 Plymouth. The 3 7/16" dia pistons are for 42 to 54 Chry/DeSoto. Quote
