hkestes41 Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Previous owner at some point welded my seat tracks so that they no longer slide, they also welded them to the floor. When they welded them to the floor they pretty well trashed the front legs. Now the passenger side has broken loose and I don't think there is enough decent metal left to fix it. Question is does anyone have an extra set they would be willing to part with or do you know of tracks from some other vehicle that is a close match? Quote
50PlymouthSled Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 What kinda car do you have? And the back broke loose? Hm. That can be fixed with a TIG or even a MIG with a low enough heat and arc setting. But let me know on the car, I have an extra set of tracks outta my 50. Quote
hkestes41 Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 Sorry, left out some critical info. I have a 48 P15 Club Coupe. What broke is the front leg on the passenger side. On closer inspection he pretty sell melted the whole dang leg when he welded them. Very little left to work with that I would trust. He must have gotten the welder for his birthday and needed to test it out on something. Hopefully he has polished his skills a little before he decides to weld anything critical. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I think those tracks are the same in either two or four door models. I had to replace mine a while back. For many years, I had them bolted in a position I found comfortable. Finally decided to make the seat slide. Found a set on ebay.....then had to add a couple ball bearings out of my old ones. Those tracks can separate a bit and the bearings will come out. They bolt to the floor using threaded holes provided there. Quote
