Slick Steve Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Sorry in advance for my ignorance, but I am new and trying to learn. Can someone explain how to operate the 3 speed Fluidrive Transmision? How is it different than a standard 3 speed trans? thanks! Quote
48mirage Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 go to wikipedia and type in fluid drive. Quote
PatS.... Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 The 3 speed fluid drive transmission car is no different from a regular 3 speed car, EXCEPT that you can let the clutch out without stalling the car. No difference in shifting at all because it's the same 3 speed transmission. Simply put, you have a "torque converter" in place of the normal flywheel. The regular clutch is bolted to that and behind is a regular 3 speed. (in this case, there is no torque multiplication and so the "torque converter" is actually just a fluid coupling) Quote
