rrobbins86
I'm working on a 1936 dodge 1/2 ton pickup and both front drums are bent badly. I went to have them turned to clean them up and the hub spins nice and true on the brake lathe, but the drum itself is bent by what appears to be 1/8" or so. I found new drums on MoParMall but they are for 37-39. Does anyone know what the difference between the 36 and the 37-39 is? Or are there other brake drums that can be swapped over? https://www.moparmall.com/MoPar-PN-668583-Front-Brake-Drum-Hub-p/ca-71990.htm The other option is this disc brake kit, but I need to confirm the inner spindle size. I'm not positive if this is the same as the inner bearing ID, or if there is a shoulder on the axle. Spindles are currently at machine shop getting king pin bushings pressed in and sized to the king pins. https://dcmclassics.com/brake-parts/1246-br-779-disc-brake-conversion-36-53.html Any help would be appreciated. It's neat to work on something that is less common than the ford/chevy's of the era, but certainly a challenge finding parts!
