Greeting everyone,

Regarding rebuilding a 230 CI Chrysler flathead, can anyone provide me the correct piston-to-cylinder wall clearance?

My shop manual doesn't provide clearance numbers in inches but instead list a value in 'pounds of pull' using feeler stock withdrawn from between the piston and cylinder wall at STP.

Seal Power list 0.002-0.004" for all of their pistons but I am not sure if those values are for low compression engines like Chrysler flatheads?

My machinist, who has a lot of experience with flathead engines, suggest 0.010" of clearance!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
