Where is the correct location to place the horn?  I have reviewed a bunch of pictures on Google and some appear to be attached to the firewall while others are attached to the top of the engine block.  If the top of the engine block is correct, do you use one of the head bolts?  I have a 47 WC half ton.

By Late 47 the horns were mounted to the firewall.  I think you could do it either way in 47  Mostly they were mounted to the head with a head bolt before 47 in most all flat head applications including cars making the bracket easy to find for the head in that application.  However, I would not disturb a head bolt to mount one after the fact rather use the firewall mount.  I prefer the firewall as it seems it would be better for the horn motor without the heat of the engine and it allows you the opportunity to use the engine lift ring available from some military suppliers which I did   finding the wall mount might be more difficult though.  Bob Harrison
