Lou Earle Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Well the Taxi got home fine but on way over and back I notice a slight jerkiness or missing at over 45. I changed points- badly worn- plugs very good-clean light tan color gaped at 35- But problem persisted UNTIL I pulled the choke out a bit then ceased and ran great. I have installed a new hose to the wiper-no leaks there I do not think. So what have I got? Maybe air creeping in somewhere? Thu throttle ? Help Lou Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Lou....check the screws and bolts that hold the carb together, make sure they are tight and also where the carb bolts to the manifold. We checked mine Saturday, tightened some of them and it starts a bit easier now. Might be getting extra air that way. Quote
Guest P15-D24 Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Checked the vacuum advance for leaks? Quote
Normspeed Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Sounds a little lean. Too much air or not enough fuel. Clogged fuel filter, low float setting, sediment in the carb....? Quote
