Jim G Posted August 23, 2020 Report Posted August 23, 2020 Well there is no doubt that the engine in my Fargo is a replacement, and if I am reading my Motor's truck repair manual correct a 3 7/16ths bore makes it a 237. One of those mysteries I'll never know is why it got a transplant. I'm assuming the R in the engine serial number stands for rebuilt? the number on the boss on the block by the genny is the same as this. Quote
Dozerman51 Posted August 23, 2020 Report Posted August 23, 2020 The 25” 3&7/16 bore motors came in 3 stroke lengths, 3.25”(237), 3.50”(251) and 3.75”(265). Remove the timing plug near #6 cylinder, and use a thin rod inserted in the hole to measure the stroke. 1 Quote
