Bell housing for 4 speed

I'm trying to convert my 49 1 ton from a 3 spd on the floor to a creeper 4 speed. The 4 speed that I have won't bolt up to my bell housing-anyone have any idea if a bell housing from a '39 with a working 5 speed, or one from a Chrysler industrial engine will fit my engine (230?) Thanks-Mike
