grey beard Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 My rear fenders are without form and void, as it were, Matter of fact, there's not much that isn't twisted, hit, dinged or otherwise messed up. Now 48-452 rear fenders are not too complicated, but there is a compound angle or two on them. In desperation, I made a fiberglass mold of the one good spot on one fender. This mold, in turn, will serve asa sanding block for the outer fender radius - I will coat it with featheredge disc cement and glue 36 grit paper onto it, and now I will be able to faithfully recreate the same radius edge the whole way around the wheel well. If you look closely at the mold, you will see that it is also wider at each end to compensate for the curve of the fender as it goes around the radius. This should give me some sort of surface to which I can then finish. Hope it works. Quote
