Oh..........uh, OK Shel......thanks.   I had looked at the headings but somehow had not seen

the ad segment.  This format is a bit similar to the last one, but some things don't seem as

easy to do......thus far.  But I haven't been on here nearly as much as in the past.  Am getting

the hang of it I think.

One thing I thought was odd about the for sale /wanted section was not being able to download a picture . But looking through the adds I see some do have picture. So what is the policy?  I think you should be able to see what is for sale or wanted and not just text.

Classified ads are free and for use by individuals selling personal items.
Ads are text only and attached or uploaded images are not allowed.
You may include a link to images on your own personal server like Photobucket or Shutterfly.
Ads will run for 30 days and are automatically deleted at the end of that time period.

b ski,

"You may include a link to images on your own personal server like Photobucket or Shutterfly."

Images uploaded to the forum take up valuable real estate.

There are photo not links in some of the ads. I would call it a good use of valuable space. I would like to see photos there. You can see if it's what you want before you  go and call the owner. Is "Show me your tools " or "The picture game" a good use of valuable real estate?

Photos can be done using PM.

PM is also the place for addresses, and other private information that you do not want to give to the entire www

The 'Img Link' puts the photo in the ad, same as putting one in a regular post. Those pictures are not uploaded onto the forum server space. Or yes, you can put in a 'clickable link' for the viewer to see your photo. Responding to an ad, the owner can also PM you a photo, or send it direct if you provide an email. There must be some other techie reason why 'attaching' a photo to an ad is not allowed.

I found one item in the ads I am interested in.....and have received a picture from the seller via

regular e-mail.  Works OK for me.  We can converse more directly this way .  I appreciate the

informative responses.
