rearview Posted June 27, 2007 Author Report Posted June 27, 2007 I'd just end up buying some useless piece of junk to create more clutter if I went. You make that sound like it's a bad thing Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 You make that sound like it's a bad thing Bob, It is when I've been trying to divest myself of the clutter. I almost fell over when I went to the Waukesha meet in May. Went with my brother in law and our mechanic friend. The mechanic friend always buys all types of "STUFF" because it looks neat, or he might need that someday. (Did I mention he already has a 3 car detached garage at his house so full that when you open any of the three doors, stuff will fall out, a 2 car garage attached to his house that you can only get one car into, a detached garage with stand up loft at his shop that you can barely walk through either the garage or loft, plus the basement of the service garage is also so full you only have a small path to walk through. That was so bad the fire inspector made him clear the paths about a year ago.) He always goes to all the swaps with us for years, AND, he always fills up the back of the van with "STUFF". However, at Waukesha in May he would look at "STUFF" and walk away. Didn't even bring his cart, just had a small bag. Finally toward the end of the meet we told him he didn't buy enough "STUFF". Said he's changed his ways and is not buying anything anymore unless he has an immediate need for it. We couldn't believe our ears. This was coming from the KING of STUFF collecting. I think I spent more than he did and I only spent about $15 or $20 at that meet and that included my lunch. So........after a while, the neat "stuff" becomes clutter. Quote
