austinsailor Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I'm going through the 36 Desoto Airflow I just bought. Brakes and steering right now. I thought the bigger diameter end of the stepped wheel cylinder went to the back since the front sort of helps itself. Mine are installed with the big end towards the front if the car. Is it correct, or were they put on the wrong sides? Gene Quote
Robert Horne Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 On my 38 the bigger cup goes toward the front. It is stamped L. 1 Quote
jcmiller Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 Here are the specs for Plymouth, but it seems like the concepts should be the same. By the way, when I was redoing my brakes, Hagen's charged the same price for a stepped bore rebuild as for the typical wheel cylinder. Some of the other shops were going to charge twice the regular price. brakeSpecs.pdf Quote
