Our Ocean City, MD trip (Slightly O.T.)

We just took a trip to Ocean City, MD for our daughter’s wedding, and for the Endless Summer car show. Left Wednesday 10-10-13 and returned this past Sunday. The weather was mostly miserable, but thankfully stopped raining for the outdoor wedding ceremony at Macky‘s. Rained on and off the rest of the time. Drove the Plymouth (it’s 3rd trip there), and the car ran great.

We had three vehicles heading for the wedding. Friends in a 67 Charger first, us in the Plymouth, with the bride-to-be, and the groom’s parents behind us in a hopped up S-10. Next thing we know, the Charger gets pulled over by the Ocean City Police, for no apparent reason. We stopped as well to find out what the problem was. Now, we didn’t have any extra time to get to our destination, so our daughter gets out of the Plymouth (in her wedding dress), ready to do battle with the policeman. I think he was a bit surprised to see her approaching him, with fire in her eyes, and telling him “We don‘t have time for this“!! He quickly said, “It’s OK…they’re free to go”. Turns out he didn’t see shoulder belts on the two occupants in the Charger, so he pulled them over. The Charger didn’t have shoulder belts, but did have lap belts, which were being used. It was humorous after the fact, but not at the moment it happened. It was too bad no one thought to take a picture while we were pulled over. Anyway, overall it was a great time, and the Plymouth came home with a trophy!! Our daughter and son-in-law’s 1966 Chevy Suburban also brought home a trophy, and another award. I’ll post some pictures when I get them downloaded .
