Monkey Truck
At the BBQ we had two trucks using Steele Rubber on the windshields. Both had been install by the same installer. And both had been installed backwards. It took awhile to figure out way the glass stuck out so much in front. Bob pointed that out to me on my truck. I haven't gone back to the installer but will. The Steele Rubber is great and the company easy to work with. If memory serves me correct, silicone is a 'trade name' for teflon or vise a versa. Do you know which other truck it was besides yours? BulldogTom
Do you know which other truck it was besides yours? Yeah, it was mine. Paul hooked me up with the guy in Reedley who did the work. Overall, it was very good work. I did not pick up the truck, my mechanic did. When I got the truck back and tried to put the center bar on, I noticed it was upside down. Did not know the difference between backwards and forwards, but I can see now that it is backwards as well... Tom Hollister, CA
gramps1951
needless to say all it takes is a real hard bump or a thrown rock and you will be doing it again the windshields i made back in 1995 for mine are just now starting to delamenate. its a good idear to save you old glass so you can make a pattern... i'll bet back in the day theses trucks must have leaked some. i have seen some of these trucks urethane set with no gasket just a universal molding from like a 1984 camaro. Gramps1951; Thanks for the info on the urethane. This is one of those installations that I only want to do once. Jeff

I had a glass guy install mine for me and I wasn't present when he did it so just curious if he installed mine right. He did a nice job. When he replaced the back center window gasket, he reinstalled the glass upside down (the label is now at the top, upside down). No biggie, just peaked my curiosity that he installed the window gasket correctly.
