post-6510-13585371983518_thumb.jpgAs a refresher Bob T is my father n law.

Pet'e was in the Joplin tornado.

I had open heart surgery after my 3rd heart attack.

During recovery I started repairing our 47 conv Pet'e.

Most of Pet'e has paint now and the hood plus the front fenders need paint

now.

I'm reconstructing the car now.

As I'm reassembling the car I plan posting pics and get advice from you all.

My recovery was lengthy. My job of twelve years decided to leave me.

So my new profession is car upholstery (trimmer)

So my first posts are recovering of the rear leanback.

ps. use the hybrid to see pics in order

ok the board in the lean back was wrotten and broken

remade that board and rejoined the woodwork.

Reattached the springs added burlap added foam added cotton.

Now its ready for material.

Made a pattern from the old cover made new pieces. Sewed the pleats.

Now its ready to be sewed up I will get back to you when the cover is sewn and ready to go on

thanks Dale:)

Ps/ had to repair the springs as well

Dale brought the rear seat back cushion along on their Thanksgiving

visit .... and it looks nice.

The original seat was maroon cloth just like this one with grey bedford

cord insert. But the car was originally Sumac Red. I think the tan

color insert will go better with the yellow paint. Thanks Dale. Bob

The next two items on the list are the rear interior panels that cover the top cylinders and the rear cushion.

I have recovered one of the rear interior panels already, but I am going to show you the process on the other one.

so here are a couple of pics to start with.
