eric wissing Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I took it apart and cleaned out the bowl. It was dirty. No giant chunks but a lot of little flakes. It was bit reddish too. Rust? There is not a fuel filter. Can I mount one right before the carb or is it better to have it before the fuel pump? Thanks, Eric Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 A fuel filter before the carb is good, however one before the pump is even better. I have a new tank and line but I also have two filters. One right off the gas tank under the car and one between the pump and carb. Prior to changing gas tanks I only had the one between the carb and pump. Quote
eric wissing Posted May 9, 2007 Author Report Posted May 9, 2007 Norm, Thanks. If I had it right before the carb it would be easy to replace. I have a feeling I could be replacing it quite often at first. The outside of the carb is really shiny now. I washed the whole thing off. Again much thanks for the advice. Eric Quote
