46busboys Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 After being off for about 12 years, I have reinstalled my hood. I have a good half inch or more gap on the passenger side. The drivers side seem to be pretty good. I don't recall if the fender has any adjustment upward. ( does it?) I have read all that comes up in the search function, not much help there. I do have the hood brace in. How far does the upper rear corner of the fender come to the Stainless Trim on the body? Mine might be a bit low. I thought this was going to be a piece of cake. Quote

Mark Haymond Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 I struggled to align the hood on my 47 Plymouth. My hood was too high above the fender on the passenger side. I found that adjusting the two bolts that hold the cowl hinge helped me. But it was a long adjust and re adjustment process. If you misadjust the TILT of the hinge the hood may want to scrape the body, or not want to gracefully close without causing a buckling of the hood. But I was able to lower the hinge adjustment a little, and raise the fender a little (without making any fender holes bigger.) I got it looking better but it still does not fit as well as the driver side. Not sure why. Quote
