BeBop138 Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 T-5 is a good swap---check the search button and there is a wealth of info there. Myself and Don C have a lot of pics and info you will need....good luck. Quote
Robert Horne Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 The T5s came in alot of different vehicles from S10s, Mustangs, Camaros, etc. They have a number like, 1352-057, 1352-058, etc. Some have the shifter in the rear of the trans, some are close to the center of the trans. 1st gear can range from 2.95 to 4.03.... I am working on a project, "5speed-non T5" right now. 1983 to 1987 Ranger TK5-toyo Kogyo transmission. So far now, not too much modifications. The shifter is toward the rear, but not as far as some of the T5s . Quote
Rusty O'Toole Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Do a Google search there is a lot of info on these transmissions. There are only a few variations considering they have been building them since the 70s. Best choice for your use is the model used in pickups and vans. The gearshift comes straight out the top. The sport model (Camaro, Mustang etc) puts the gearshift on an extension that puts it too far back, into the seat on your car. Quote
