realgonekatt Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 I was just wondering if anyone has tried using ford or chevy tie rod ends on their p-15? They are cheap and plentiful and I need to tighten up my steering a little. Ford uses the 7degree taper, dont know what plymouth used? Quote
realgonekatt Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 Thanks for the info man. Do you have them as inner t.r.ends (at pitman arm) as well? Quote
Mark Haymond Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 Realgonekatt, I deleted my post about the Explorer tie rod ends because my information was incorrect. My car is using a Cavalier power steeriing unit and has SAE to Metric thread adapters on the outer ends of the tie rods, it is not a stock P-15 setup. Sorry about that. -Mark Quote
realgonekatt Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Posted October 3, 2011 I was hoping to use the drag links available from s.way in custom lengths complete with new ford ends for under $100...not a bad deal. Quote
Mark Haymond Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Well, I can say that the ford explorer tie rod ends have the right taper for my 47 plymouth. Quote
