Reading the post on Route 66 photos got my memories into high gear. I'm one of those old guys 'that drove 'em way back when'. I grew up with these old cars. My first MoPar was a '40 Dodge sedan I picked up for $40 when I was

17. A few years later (1964) after a number of P-15s, I found myself on the Continental Divide under the hood of a P-15 CC adjusting the timing so that I could get enough power out the old flathead to get over Rabbit Ear Pass. I drove that car five time across the States with no mechanical problems. I loved driving the P-15s then and I still get a big kick out of them now. I can't say that I'm re-living my youth but I can say I trully love the quality, ride and feel of what I feel was one of the best American cars ever built. I am now able to drive a number of cars from the 30s through the present, including the restored '47 DeSoto. I prefer the P-15 over them all!
