I just got word that a p-15 is within my grasp. a friend has two, one is complete and the other needs a left front fender. I am working a deal to have it delivered from delaware. I plan to install a 360 small block with a 906. My question is alot of you have done this, do I need to sub frame it or can I use the original front end? also what kind of rear should I have? what donor car rear would work off the bat? any help would be appreciated!:) I have seats and tilt wheel so the small things are not a problem.

I am installing a 318 block with a 904. I am using the original front end, a 8 3/4 rear end out of a 1965 B-body mopar, order front mounts from plydo, making my own transmission mount, did not want to pay the price plydo wanted for rear mount. If you can find a copy of Tex Smith How To Build Mopar Hot Rods, their is abig section on installing a 318 into a 47 plymouth

Rodney, I just recently put a a 318 in my p-15. Just get PlyDo's motor mounts and with them,it's a bolt in. You may have to move the radiator forward some. I'm also going to remove the original transmission crossmember and will install my own rear cross member-I'm using a Borg-warner T-5- and a rearend from a '78 Cordoba whisch is the same width as the original rerarend and will mount on the original springs. This is an easy swap and except maybe for the radiator mounts, you don't need to cut or remove a lot to get a Mopar small block engine to fit.

Rodney, the radiator mounts on a kind of channel. I think if a person needs some more room , the back side ( or what would be considered the "engine" side) could be cut away giving about and inch or so where the radiator would now mount still on what left of the radiator original mount. Might have to drill some holes, but that should be easy. Might even consider using a somewhat smaller radiator from a newer car too. Changing the lower hose connection ( if needed, on a newer radiator)is pretty simple -any radiator shop can do that with out much effort.
