On Saturday avo I dropped the motor back in the P26. Because I'm not young, strong, fit and stoopid anymore, I cut the radiator bulkhead crossbar out and put the mill and trans in together. Man! That sure is easier than lying under a car that;s lowered, trying to juggle a heavy trans into place without bending the clutch plate etc, etc. Welded the bulkhead cross bar back in and good to go. Still gotta connect up all the ancillary stuff, but it's a good feeling when you see the light at the end of the tunnel and know yer only a couple of weeks away from getting her on the road! I've got the skirts on, also the wide white and chrome Moons, so she's starting to look sharp. Then will come the fun part..... block sanding.... :(

Good deal RBBman. Whatever works, works. I learned to use guide studs and a floor jack to get that trans. in. Too bad I learned it after throwing my back out while attempting to bench press that trans onto place some years back.

Another factor which dictated that choice was the fact that one gearbox to bellhousing bolt in particular is near impossible to get at on my car, without some specal sort of spanner bent at a weird angle. It took me several hours to undo it, I sure did'nt want to spend several hours trying to get it back in!
