Bradley S. Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hey; Took my B1F for another shake down cruise this weekend. Runs strong. But now does not stop. Good thing I fixed the hand brake first. Blew out something in the RR brake. Fluid pouring out. Do any of you know if replacement or rebuild parts available for the 1-1/2 ton chassis brake systems like they are for the pick ups and expresses? I am also trying to locate a hydraulic pump input shaft seal and a couple hoist control valve seals for the bed hoist system The hydraulic pump says: FRANKITE 21. The control valve has HO2263 stamped on a boss. Does any of that sound familiar to you guys? I Googled Frankite and came up with squat. Hopefully the seals I am looking for ar off the shelf stuff. As always, thank you for your help!!!!! Brad Quote
rustyzman Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Kanter may well have wheel cylinders for you. If you know the WC diameter, likely Dorman, Wagner or Raybestos still has them. You may find that listings will be incorrect, but with some work, they are out there. The lines of course are just fabricate your own. Highly recommend Cunifer or NiCopp line as it is extremely easy to work with, will last nearly forever, but is a bit more money. Linings should be easy to have relined at any place that does modern large trucks or industrial trucks. Master on that one may be the same as the smaller trucks, not sure though. Check the piston diameter. I just completely redid my 1 ton's brakes and with a some searching found what I needed minus drums. On the dump bed though, get dimensions on the seals and numbers if possible. If no numbers, I say check McMaster Carr. For a shaft seal you may find one in a dimension chart that will work. National seals still makes those charts. Just some thoughts. Quote

HanksB3B Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I know a lot of guys have found these at places like AutoZone and RockAuto. Personally on my 1/2 ton I purchased a new Master Cylinder and all new wheel cylinders from Roberts Motor Parts. $129 Master $24.50 x 4 (rear upper and lowers) $45.00 x 2 (fronts) $317 complete The parts were a perfect fit. Hope you find an even better deal on what you are looking for. Hank Quote
rustyzman Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Yeah, Kanter is pricey, but for my C1D, they were the only company that had my rear wheel cylinders (1 1/8" both pistons). Listings in all catalogs and interchanges were wrong showing 1 1/2" bores or 1 3/8" or a different casting altogether. I know this because I talked to the reps for the manufacturers and actually ordered, measured and returned them all. They also had my front shoes. Price was higher, but they had it and the quality was good. Their tech guys knew what I was talking about as well. The front wheel cylinders were available as new manufacture from Dorman for about $30 each. Quote
austinsailor Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 just talked to a friend who had some linings replaced at one of those big truck places. He didn't ask for the price first, but at pickup was charged over $200 for 4 shoes. Quote
rustyzman Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Guy in Milwaukee I talked to said about $95 for four shoes. I found some NOS ones for the rear by luck and did not get to try them. Quote

Brad Hi Brad, I have Bendix #33328 written down on a sheet of paper with a picture of a wheel cylinder. Not sure if it would be the fronts or the rears. I know the rear OE cylinders are 'stepped'. 1 3/8 on one end, 1 1/2 (?) on the other end. May have been 1 1/4. I replaced all my wheel cylinders a while ago, and it was a chore to find the rears. Mine are no longer stepped, but they fit fine in the backing plates and with the lines. I'm having issues with my master at the moment. The previous owner put a master on from a 1 ton (1 1/4 in bore) that is leaking. The OE should be a 1.5 in bore. Napa has the OE masters, but it's around $250. MC784 I think is that number. Raybestos part number. I managed to find a OE 1.5 but it's pitted inside and beat (with a hammer from the looks) on the outside. Trying to find a dual master that will fit but no luck so far. Good luck and let us know how it works out. Keith Quote
