Mustang6147 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I have a 41 Plymouth. The engine was replaced in 94? with a Jasper engine. It is also a flathead 6. I dont know specificaly what I have so, I am calling on al Old Mopar Guru's. Here is what I do know... The head is 23" long. On the left side toward the front, on the side of the block, right under the head, is a flat surface stamped T-165 12 50. the 50 previously mentioned is hard to confirm, but looks like it. On the bottom of the left side of block, below the distributor, right above the oil pan lip is "5 - 17 - 54" then above that is A▲2. These numbers are raised. There are also dial notations in the casting raised in the middle of the block, I am not sure if these are simply casting specifics or what... If anyone can help, please do.... I would like to know exactly what I have here. Quote
40plyrod Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Not sure how to paste a link but try this site http://t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php Quote
Mustang6147 Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) The link, has alot of info. It states the T-165 is Truck 230ci from 1948 & 49. also confirming a 23"head. I would also think, it is a better engine then the original. The original was w 201ci. and the 230 werent used until 1955 in Plymouth car application. This was a fresh rebuild in 1994. Thank you for the link, any other info would also be good. Edited February 15, 2010 by Mustang6147 Quote
