Lou Earle Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I repaired one on a 50 Plymouth- worked fine until I tried to bend it- might as well have taken a bolt cutter to it!! I broke the joint. What I did was coil up the new tubing and the bulb put them in a pot and left about 10 inches sticking out the froze it all night-solid block of ice then did the joining. worked great but I messed it up later Lou PS once tried it with JB weld - did not work Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 That coiled-up wire protecting the capillary really makes a big difference. I tried it again this morning. Took the gauge head out of the cluster and put the bulb in boiling water. It's still dead today. I know I lost the ether out of that thing. Quote
