Broersma Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Hello all, I am currently rebuilding a 1952 Dodge B-3. I have sent of my fuel sending unit to be rebuilt, however it is in such bad shape that they will not be able to measure the resistance for the rheostat in the unit. Does anybody know what the correct resistance (or range) for these units? Or does anybody know what resistance the gauges need? Thanks, Lennart Quote
MBF Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Do a search on sending units. There was a thread on this a while ago that specified the resistance range, and even offered a p/n for a unit that JCWhitney or someone was selling that fell within the appropriate range. Mike Quote
Broersma Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 Hello Mike, Thanks for the reply. I have searched the fore and found several answers, most of them giving a range of 10-90 Ohms. Lennart Quote
grey beard Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 That is exactly the ohm range you want for your truck. J. C. Whirney sells a generic unit for $20 or so that is fully adjustable and works just fine. That's what is in my tank. Senders are no problem when you can use something like this. Just remember if you bench test the sender that the dash gauge frame must also be grounded - this doesn't show up on any schematic. Good Luck Quote
