michael.warshaw Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 what did the origanal head linber look like? Quote
DLK Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Cloth similar to this is original or you can order vinyl if you prefer. If you read some of the old posts on here putting in your own headliner is not a task for the faint of heart. It is a difficult job unless you have done it and know what you are doing. I got an estimate of $1,500 from one shop for material and labor, I am sure there are cheaper places. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 The material is a light grey, kind of similar to flannel. Held up by metal bows. I would certainly have an upholstry shop install it. You can buy pre-cut and sewn headliners to have them put in. Quote
Harvey Tank Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Michael, as mentioned by dkopsky think twice before you attempt do do it your self. I am lucky a good friend of mine helped me install my headlinner. or I should say I helped him. he did all the sewing and I helped. and boy what a learning experience. I went with the original mole hair . a very lite brown color. it cost me $1600.00 for all of the upholstery for my P 20. good luck on yours. Quote
