bob westphal Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 There has been some controversy about tubless radial tires on older rims. I have done this several times in the past and logged many miles with no problems. Some of the rims had the larger oval valve stem holes. I simply used bolt on stems that are made for trucks that I picked up at my local tire store. The other day I put a pair of 205/65 15 on the front of my P-15 coupe with 225/75 bias ply tires on the rear. I know that the experts say this is a NO, NO. Haven't driven it yet but will do so later today. I'll let you know if there are any problems. Bob Quote
Guest Nelsons Ply Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Bob Do the test on a wet road. You will notice the bias tire will slip on a wet surface more than a radial Quote
bob westphal Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 I just got back from my test drive on a wet road. I didn't see anything derogetory to complain about. In fact the car actually handles better and the steering feels tighter. Quote
