carol craig Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Any time you have used a credit card on any website that info is somewhere on your computer and can be accessed by hackers. BE AWARE. Your liability for fraudulent purchases is limited if at all but is still a hassle. If you need more info on what to use for security please send me a private e-mail. Frank Blackstone Quote
Johnny S Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I suggest the use of a very good Window Washer program and one or more Anti-Spyware programs. Run them often. Never "save" your credit card info when asked to do so. Keep your cookies to a minimum, you can set your Window Washer to remove all but the P15-D24 one for instance, and set your Windows security level no lower than medium. Plus, don't open up any attachments that you don't know who they are from nor any emails that also come in from some unknown source. That will minimize your exposure. An all cash/barter society would be great but not too practical these days. Heck, pretty soon you will be able to buy stuff by swiping your cell phone over the checkout scanner. Won't that be fun?
